Relic hunting in an old park, this "pork chop" looking thing is solid iron, heavy at 5inches long and 1inch thick...the blade looking thing is 9inches long....any help would be appreciated..

Des Moines, Iowa

sjohn61 , the blade item is probably a sickle used to cut weeds or grass .the other item could possibly be a part off an old tractor . hope this helps Ezra.

Good ideas, it looks like a counter weight maybe, the other could be a sickle, it's just that the handle part is strange, could be part of farm equipment as well, regardless I think it's neat..Thanx for the suggestions!!

The blade looks very much like a hay knife but 9 inches is too short for that. The bent handle suggests that downward pressure was used to cut into something. It could be anything from a small froe to a sod cutter to a knife for cutting into large blocks of cheese or many other medium sized jobs. A better picture from several different angles might help.

The blade looks like half of a log de-barker.
Maybe that can lead you to its intended purpose?

A draw knife as they are called do not normally have a double edge. The relic looks like a full tang knife that might have had the tang bent on purpose or by accident. Typically the tang would run up through the handle. Cool find. Hunter

The knife thingy looks like,an old, large flat file, that someone ground into a knife or spear
point. I get a vision of some teen age boy looking over his shoulder as he used Pop's grinder,
to build the ultimate,weapon.

I have found another knife object exactly the same as this original picture, so it has to be a manufactured piece of some kind...

The item on the right is a dibble. It would have had a wooden handle and is a tool used for poking holes in the ground for planting bulbs or seeds. Makes sense it was found in a park, probably lost by the gardener long ago.
