No rest for the wicked

Couldn't sleep for nothing last night maybe 3 hours....

Couldn't get that football field off my mind that I mentioned being close to the in laws.
4 AM and that is where I was. Found a 1.6 gram 10k girls heart ring a couple months earlier ( still need to post it up) on the home side of the field.
Decided I would try and cover new ground even though this places gives up quarters like most places give up pull tabs.

Start across the end zone and the do.es and quarters were there on the other side a good nickel ID popped out what I thought was my first long awaited class ring, Nope but it was a nice little 2.204 gram 10k girls ring and that'll do to get my blood going.

Plenty of coins and coaches old whistle ( cleaned up and still works lol)

All in all a great albeit tired ealery morning run.

Safe New Years guys,

Lakota

Well that's pretty good.
Got to take advantage of good weather when you can.
I got out for 10 mins this afternoon in an old river park and scored a 1941 wheaty and an on known dime. It is covered with crusty gunk yet.

Lakota you have found yourself a gold mine. I feel your excitement. Gold rings and silver coins! There has to be hundreds of more finds there for you dig. Nice going.

Start a grid search and go slow and easy until you have covered every inch of it and then grid it off again at a different angle.

If you find more good stuff, grid it off again at another angle.

Thanks Coin Rescue , we know what that dime is yet ? Of course if you are like me, silver in any shape or form is always welcome lol

Tab , my Father in law got me back up.and running with my Cutlass uMax in the form of a new ( used, new to me) 10.5" round donut coil ( lost the 8" brown to the water last year).
My Cutlass is my gold.magnet and I can't wait to unleash it on a few spots that I am having luck with on the jewelry , this spot is topping the list. Really not trashy for the most part, can hear a little iron and only got tricked by one deeper bent nail only found 3 screw caps. My hopes is the uMax being so sensitive will grab some of those bracelets and necklaces we all know are there, but to often escape us.

Have a happy new years all,

Hi the dime turned out to be a 1966 clad. When the crust was peeled back it was still shiney sliver. So that was odd. Was next to a small river so maybe it floods periodically. We were traveling to see Mom on a 100 mile trip so it was a planned break to stretch the legs. Good luck on your hunt

Thats some great hunting there! :please:

You must enjoy hunting at night..care to say why? Do you feel it makes your sense of hearing sharper? One thing, you sure are doing great at it..

Always been a night owl, some of my earliest memories were of stroller rides at night around the neighborhood with my grandmother trying to get me to sleep. That and 3 eye surgeries from age 3 to 8 have left my pupil over sized and unable to contract , so sunny days can be a pain in the butt.

Mostly though its quiet, cool and no one bothers you. Isn't that what we all look for? lol

Yes, I am enjoying hunting parks in December at temps in the 30-40's.
Very quiet and no one looking over your shoulder.
Just have to dress for the weather. The Grey Ghosts keep your ears warm.

Got out last night for a while, clear skies with brilliant stars out and a great veiw of Orion, it was 25° +/- and ice was having zero issue forming on me and my equipment, was kinda funny to watch my black 11' bi axial coil turning white lol. About an inch of ice on it when I finally called it quits for the night. But it was just nice and peaceful.. Me, my thoughts and field.

Didn't get cold myself though, I have developed a pretty good tolerance for someone that grew up in CA. originally haha.

Have a good and safe new years guys,

Lakota
