Hello gentlemen...I'm a newbie to the hobby as I've only been doing this about a month now...I have an SE Pro w/10.5" DD coil...I run a little iron mask with conductivity tones - everything else factory set...I mainly hunt local parks in the Buffalo NY area (is anyone out there near here?), one of which is over a hundred years old...When I first got the machine I was excited to dig up ANY coin...I would and still usually only get a few newer clad coins, per every 2-3 hour hunt...I would usually only entertain the high pitched/high conductivity signals like: 00|29...everybody knows those...and for a while I was content with my 3-4 clad coin a day yields...After reading a bunch of online forums and watching a few detecting videos here and there, it seems like alot of silver coins are being found regularly(dimes anyway)...You would think a pre-64 dime, like a 62 Roosevelt for example, would be a fairly common find - especially in a old park...However, all the coins I've found have been newer coins with the exception of a few wheat pennies...Most of these coins are found at the 4-6" range emitting that nice 00|29 signal...I haven't had any of those "nice" coin signals at deeper depths...Am I just getting a bit discouraged here or should I feel reason for concern?..What are some of your guys' silver hunting standards?..How often do you find one?..I've also read that alot of people get ferrous containing signals at deep depths that yield coins which obviously do not contain iron...I'll start digging those signals now...Well, good luck to everyone!..
