sorry guys but teknetics is not fixing omegas 8000

called yesterday and they told me that

just letting you know

Hmm well they told that they are not acepting them for repairs

You need to talk to someone "higher up" at FT!------I think by law, they have to honor the 5 yr. warranty that comes with the Omega (if purchased new & to the original purchaser).-----The ones out of warranty--yeah, (maybe) they aren't servicing them.

and they will repair, or replace, any unit under warranty, which the Omega 8000 has like all the rest of First Texas detectors. After the warranty is over, they may, or may not, be able to make repairs. It will depend on the problem.

I think this is much ado about nothing...

It was a high lvl person wont tell his name because he is cool ;)

Ten days ago i called about a possible coil problem and I was told to send it back and they would check it. HH jim tn

I asked for a possible problem on the computer they told me what i posted "sorry we cant take 8000 units those are discontinued" maybe the will replace it with a 8500 but who knows, after i told them that was a 8500 the response changed to " oh send it over no problem"

I know you heard/read what you say you did, but I would be pretty shocked and dismayed with F T if that in fact is the case. Again, not disputing you, but I am your source. But, I could be wrong. I was once, if I recall correctly. :) HH jim tn

you could call em :) just to be sure

You just bought an 8500 - you have never said anything about having an Omega 8000? Do you have one? If so, did you buy it new?

As I'm sure you know, First Texas warranties are to the original buyer only, they are not transferrable.

Recently you were complaining that they wouldn't give you an estimate over the phone - sight unseen - for repairing your CZ-6. You seem to have a lot of repair comcerns.

no he thought I had a 8000 and answered like if I had one after I cleared that I had a 8500 he just told me to send it over

It sounds like you were discussing a possible problem with the circuit board. In many cases, repair of the board is impossible and replacement of the board is the only repair option. The terms of the Teknetics warranty are "...repairing or replacing at our option..." the Omega 8000 is discontinued, and if no Omega 8000 new boards are available, replacement would have to be with another model - presumably an Omega 8500. Perhaps that's what Felix or Juan in Customer Service meant when they talked to you - .

As far as warranty service on an Omega 8000 goes, they are obliged to honor the terms of the warranty as written.
