Not a bad trade.......

A couple of days ago a relative traded a $25 air rifle for the canteen in the photo. It's an 1858 smoothside and according to the guy he got it from it was found at Manassas over 40 years ago. It has E Hanford scratched on the spout, probably the name of the soldier who it belonged to as there was an E Hanford in a PA regiment. If it's authentic that was a pretty fair trade.

What !!! Fair trade. If its authentic and it looks to be so; You guys got over big time ! What a deal. Its worth quite a bit more than $25. The E Hanford makes it even more special. Nice post. cch
