Not a good sign..for sale...

Lyman's On The Lake is a sporting goods/fishing store and has cabins for rent. They are the best people around and have been a wonderful gift to this community....even was given a part in the movie 'Frozen Stupid' with Ernest Borgnine.

Sherry just read they are selling out. That is not good news for this community. They are one of the 'strongholds' behind the tourists trade (fishing and sporting goods, etc.) and have out lived almost all the other bait shops too.

We saw a gas station that was open earlier today...both sided of their sign for gas prices are now gone...I think they closed the station - just gave up.

If anyone has a lot of extra money and wants to buy a town....won't be long ya probably can own this town and be its own mayor and sheriff and live on the lake to boot. Sad.

they build docks for boaters. But since Higgins Lake and Houghton Lake in our county will be seeing fewer and fewer tourist bringing their boats because of the gas prices I foresee their business suffering too. Who needs a dock if ya can't afford to tow the boat up here and leave it at a dock especially if the trips to use it will be less and less.

We have boats all over the place stored in storage areas with a blue shrink wrap cover on them. By now they should all be uncovered and in the water...most remain wrapped...some were never unwrapped from last year. Not a sign of prosperity in my book. There are lots of houses for sale up here...some have been on the market for over 3 years and more for sale signs are popping up. Who can afford to own a house and a vacation property these days?
Many are being foreclosed on for back taxes. People just giving up their places they can't afford any longer or they die off (or go into nursing homes) and ther kids can't afford their own place and their folks place so they have to let the property go. Not much of a legacy for those coming up behind us.

Pete when were on the road I find it saddening to see so many closing signs and vacant buildings in every town we pass. United states is not what it use to be.
Our government and the people have allowed laws to be passed in this nation that are against Gods law and what we see are the results. Sempter fi( can't spell ) once said on this sight We should all be on our knees blessing God not asking for blessing and i believe if this nation would do this He would turn this thing around. But in my heart I don't thinks it will happen because of the end times I think were end. Take care everyone . --- Graw

I was traveling down M-90 yesterday and M -137. I couldn't believe all the houses that are for sale or empty. Also the ones with forclosure notices on them. It was really shocking. You might soon be able to buy a state, not just a town.

Oh the houses and stores will be sold eventually when the foreigners come in and buy them up cheap with our own tax money! While Cliff was in FL, they were building two large Mosques and the people were sure holloring, but will be no use, as the Gov't has given them special treatment with money to start their own businesses! If you, Cliff or I would try to start a business, we would get very little help from our own gov't, who are: WE THE PEOPLE, but aren't recognized that we also need help and are natural born citizens!

Cliff said he made one small check when working for Midas Muffler and then Green Acres Trailer Court while the immigrants had welfare checks, the checks both wife and husband worked for....anyway they cashed three checks to his one and had a lot more money! Like I said life isn't fair.....but that is the way a sinful world is and nothing will change for the better until Jesus returns and sets up His Kingdom for a 1000 years of Millineal peace and then in the end of that, He will rule and reign forever in peace! One time Cliff was in a restaurant and this one guy was saying we should speak his language! Cliff told him this is America, soooo Speak English! The guy got mad and started talking in his language and Cliff figured he was cussing him but didn't know for sure! He doesn't care for them at all! Lived around them too long! Miami is called Little Cuba!!

If I had loads of money, I could keep this house and buy up others at a real bargain and then hope the prices of housing goes up....but I probably would lose what I invested instead!

Lots of homes in St. Louis area are for sale too! North County is being bought by mostly the blacks and Liz is surrounded by them! She has lived there for so long that she doesn't want to move, as she is 80 years young but dangerous for her to live there.......too many breakins and murders going on in her area and downtown! Not so bad where I am as yet!

Pete, I hope you, Sherry and Casey are doing better healthwise and may God supply your financial needs and bless you all mightily!

Was out applying for jobs. Most places aren't hiring or they will give an application and that is it. I checked at the Township Offices to see if they had any odd jobs - nope. So I taught them....I detected in their playground

Will post my finds later. Casey is home and its her birthday. 17 now.

I hope you taught them by finding something really good and lots of coins! Sorry about no jobs to be had in your area! Times are tough everywhere!
