Not a great pic but my very first detector- a Metrotech-about 1964 in Yuba City, California

That's a real interesting gardget. So...tell us a little more about it. How deep? Batteries? Discrimination? BFO? You probably did alright with it considering it was the only one around. And finally, who's that babe behind you guys?

Man, I must be getting old! I was checking out the car!!

Your not the only one checking out the car, I had to go back and see the Babe John was talking about.

That was my Ma. She always was a Babe. Here's a pic of her in 1971.

Hey Bill, Beautiful Lady, then I noticed the Kitchen table and chairs, boy do I remember them!

Yeah I think everybody had a set like that many moons ago. I still like them as they were built like a tank but don't think you can even find a table and chairs like that anymore and those were made in the good old U.S.A. like everything usec to be.

Don't remember if I answered your post or not The Metrotech was the primo detector of that day but primitive by today's standards. It was a TR with no earphones, no speaker-just an ear plug. No discimination, no pinpoint. Only display was a signal intensity meter. Had about a twelve-inch coil as I recall. Used AA batteries. Depth was actually quite good. But since you could practically rake the coins up back then it worked fine.
