Not all Arkie tot lots refill as quick...............:cam:

I hunted three smaller playgrounds this morning.

I found that these smaller tot lots don't have many fresh drops.
The first one I found 129 coins in 40 minutes last November. I
also found some silver jewelry and I think, a little gold.

Today I found 5 pennies and one freshly dropped nickel. Hardly
any trash. It's a very clean tot lot.

The second one produced a cheep ring, some clad and some trash.
It's in a nice neighborhood, but not much traffic.

The last one is in a racially mixed neighborhood. I found lots of
trash and some clad. Also a a few bangles and a nice little brass
bell with the ringer still in it. This one has a little more traffic.

Here's my finds.

Hope you enjoyed it half as much as I did.:)

HH,

Sure looks beautiful down there TabDog, you sure get the goods. The snow is sloooowly melting up here, I can't wait to get out and try my new Vaquero I even have a new 5.75 concentric for it. I just ordered a Compadre for my wife to use, she loves to detect as much as I do. And I figured it would be a nice detector for my son to use when he gets a little older (he is 4). Take care! Steve upstate New York...

Hay Steve,

I used both the Vaquero and the Compadre today. The V has a great all metal mode.
When hunting jewelry, it will really do the trick. Small chains sound off really good,
and more depth than most MD's on stuff like that. Hope you like yours as much as I
love mine. I got a 5.75 for mine also. For jewelry, it is a big help.

I think you will like the Compadre. Doesn't have the power of the V, but it can do things
that just amaze me. Try it out around large iron objects and see if you can get some
impressive results. It took me a little practice, but I found that I was able to do things
that none of my other MD's will allow me to do.

Hope you can get out soon,

Tab your picture are very inspiring , and what a beutifull spot you have to hunt makes me want to get out thear cool stone bridge did you look under it and on eather side they may have tosed coins over the edge making wishes i would be all over that spot awwdhh a luudd

Nice pics tabdog.

So just what is wrong with that? Those are pretty good Tot Lot gleanings for any average day. You dont hit Eldorado every time out, after all.
From the looks of it, the reason you didnt score big was just as you surmised - there was nothing there. You seem to have your instruments set up right and they are obviously working correctly! It just wasn't your day

But there is one thing you CAN bank on: It sure beats sitting on the couch.

Thanks for sharing the great pics. It looks lovely there in AR.

Hay Gunnar,

That is a pretty park. The city has a reservoir there and it's named Reservoir Park.
There was a turkey walking around. I tried to get a picture of it, but they just run
too fast. Dear roam the area and it's right in the city. I had my hopes up for that
one, but it produced the least.

HH,

Hay David,

There's nothing wrong with that. That represents a real nice day. I had things to my self until
later on a few nice people started showing up. I like to be interrupted sometimes and talk to
people.

I learned to find jewelry in tot lots in November of 2007. I proceeded to go through all of them
in this area. I go through them now to monitor them and learn. I like cleaning screws, nails
and other harmful objects out of them.

I like other types of hunting also. Tot lot hunting has taught me a lot that I can apply in other
environments.

I find tot lots addicting. The environment and the experience are enjoyable. There are times I
want to be alone. Arkie Land provides that also.

I enjoy your post very much. I learn from your wisdom. Thanks for sharing. I look forward to
reading more.

My name is David. But here I'm Tabdog.

HH,

Nice little pile of finds, Tabdog!

I've been following someone's footprints in a couple of my favorite volleyball courts.
He's getting better, too! I got skunked twice in a row... but it's still fun to get out.

Watched judge judy the other day, and THAT was a total write off!

Glad you are keeping track of your tot lot circuit.
Hope to see your Au recovery improve over the summer months.

Maybe you will be able to post a newspaper article when you get the chance to return some prize to a young lady.
That would be fun for your collection.

... thanks. Glad to be of service.

My name is David. But here I'm Tabdog... pleased to meet you, sir.

Hay Dahut,

You said in your post:

more about what you learned and how you apply it.

As I checked back, I find that my memory is fading as well as the rest of my body.
The date I learned to find jewelry was September of 2007.

I was inspired by this post by Monte on this forum:

http://www.findmall.com/read.php?17,589442,589929

The very next day I found my first gold at a tot lot across the street from the War
Memorial Stadium where the AR Razorbacks Have played many times in front of
a home crowd. Ooooooo Pig Sooeeeeeeee

I made this post at that time:

http://www.findmall.com/read.php?17,590230,590230#msg-590230

After that I read many more post by Monte and others. I continue to learn every day.
That keeps this hobby alive for me.

25 years ago I got a Technatics. It broke a couple years later. I never got another one
until late July of 2007. I'm a retired surveyor. Been researching and searching for things
in the ground for well over 30 years. It just suits me.

I am pleased to meet you, sir. and Lord be with you,

Good old Monte Von. Man, the things that dude has taught us all. We owe him much.
Is he still around? Someone please tell me he is....

Yes, Monte's still around.

He is staying with his inlaws while their house is being finished.

He can not get online with a high speed connection enough to stay up
with things or answer his eMail.

We hope to hear from him soon. He is missed.

HH,

Hey Tabdog!

That's pretty good!

A Razorback, a dancing girl, and a mini ball and chain for your new addiction...

I almost got enough to buy a new sack of batteries!
