Not an old thing but nobody on the Fisher forum seems to know what it is so..

I'm hoping someone here can figure it out. Its aluminum. It was in a small plastic bag when I dug it. One side says " Fisher Research Laboratory 1931-1987" and the other "Fisher M-Scope The Worlds Oldest and Proudest Name in Metal Detectors" Came in right on silver dollar.
