I hit the road today looking for a plantation site a guy told us about, but never found it. I did find myself back at a spot where I have found a couple of Union officer buttons and a Marine Corps button from the 1850's. Well I got my Eagle, but it wasn't the flavor I was looking for. It's coat sized, and it looks like somebody tried to make some type of pin out of it. It was bouncing between a pull tab and iron. That big blob of iron on the back was masking the rest of the button, but the C$ sniffed it out. 
It was a VERY IFFY signal. That's why if it repeats I dig it!. I also got a 1930 something buffalo nickel. That's the only 2 things I found. I was only there about 30 minutes. I think I'll try the ketchup thing on the buffalo.
