Not finding silver!

Hey all.

I see post after post talking about the V and it's lack of silver finding. Hogwash!

Then I see post after post asking about bigger coils and if they will do this and that... Bigger coils are great if faced with a field but you wouldn't
see me trying to use one around an old house or park.

More often than not a bigger coil is not your answer...The issues you are having are most of the time resolved by using a smaller coil and having the GB
set correctly and that would be not to far on the positive side as Allcav has stated. Also swing speed....The V loves to be moved slowly.

The 5.75 ether DD or Concentric will give just about as much depth as the stock and are TONS better at getting in between trash and finding that silver.
If you don't have a smaller coil and are faced with an area with lots of trash and you know there has to be silver there. Lower your sens....raise your
coil and and try to work thru the trash like that....

If you want silver...spend 80% of your time researching and 20% detecting. There is alot of silver out there and the V will find it. You have to set yourself up
to succeed rather than just using luck if you want the good stuff.

GaryF has hit the nail on the head. The Vaquero is a good machine (I dont own one, but I know a few people who do). My Tejon ran at the same frequency as the Vaquero, and it had no trouble at all finding silver...but the silver had to be there or I would not have been able to find it, no matter what I used. Research, and finding new (old) places to hunt is where you'll find silver. If you can find somewhere that no-one else has hunted, you will find heaps of silver. If you cant find new locations, look at your old locations through old eyes....what used to be where 60-100 years ago? Find old maps etc of the locations where you hunt. Google Earth. A great research tool. And the best news! It's never too late! HH

Consider how long it's been since silver coins were taken out of circulation versus how many of those years people have been detecting for them. They've been a diminishing resources since the early 60s.

clad coins "dimes and quarters" have been in circulation for (47) years. Silver coins have been in circulation since the pilgrims landed in our NEW country up to 1965. And as far as folks detecting and finding "silver coins", i would say not more than twenty years with metal detectors, because i do not think the technology in metal detectors before that was sophisticated enough to do a lot of silver finding. and that's being lenient. Again HH and i hope you find a boat load of silver.
