I did luck out on the jewelry.

The ring is 925 and sterling stamped. It's almost as big as the two pence British coin. The ear rings are 10 K and just what my wife has been looking for. Easter present :) I saw them on the chip bark looped together.

Hey Steve, It's interesting that the British Two Pence coin can be found all over North America. I've found one as well last fall in one of our local parks.
 
in my favor for foreign coins is the big time university here which attracts scholars from all over the world ; plus the air base which does the same thing. steve in so az
