except meeting two great guys who took the time to bring me along on the hunt, which was greatly appreciated. I had a great time. Hunted around 8 hours. Found what appears to be a key hole piece of hardware off an old jewelry box or something of that nature. And maybe a token, not sure yet, its round and crusty. Part of an old cap pistol. Having said that, I still have more learning to do on this Explorer. Tried it in Advanced Smart/Iron Mask that day. But I wasn't skunked. I found as much as they did it appears. Oh well, maybe next time.

learning a little each outing then you are successgul ! WTG.

Sounds like you had a great time! I'll tell you, just to get out and spend 8 hours hunting anywhere would be nice I'm lucky if I can get in 8 hours a week!
Hey, what iron mask setting were you on? Relic hunting? NO IRON MASK!!!
Deal with the tones dude Actually, I find hearing EVERYTHING a help. (Unless I'm in a very trashy area)
Just curious, what settings were you using?
Joe

set-up. Iron Mask -10, Fast and deep, threshold barely audible, Gain 6, variability 8, threshold tone 5. I was up against two Troy X-5's.

Hi, Ronbo, I doubt if you can go wrong by using Mike's set-up, as he is really, really good at metal-detecting. The finds he brought to the Coinshooters Club over the last 20 years out of just one of the big, old parks in St. Louis you just wouldn't believe unless you had seen all the stuff! He moved to Florida and is finding gold now when he can get out hunting as he has a new son and helps with him!
Mike is a nice guy and a very good detectorist!
Hope you find lots when you learn all the tricks of the detector you have and also Joe G! Just takes practice, practice and more practice!
God Bless!
Betty
