Not the only one hunting this property!

Hi All,
Good to be back in Florida and out detecting! Got permission to hunt a Church property (about 2-3 acres) that had a lot of old pines and oaks. this was an area of St. Pete that was very rural back in the day. As you can see, lots of shotgun brass. Mostly from the 30's best I can tell. Took a neighbors son with me in the afternoon after school was out. He is major hooked since he got his Ace 250 for Christmas. He seems to be a natural. He fills in his holes and best of all...will hunt all day long!!
Managed to find my 9th silver for the year. A1960 rosie. Along with 3 wheats. The Disabled American Vet tag was cool. Not sure what it was for though.
Thanks for looking,
Bunker

Almost forgot, I found a 1937 buff this am. at the same Church.
Thanks,
Bunker

Bunky -nice hunt there. Glad to see that the kid is really enjoying the hobby and is learning by your example, the code of ethics. Cool vet tag, indeed.
Cabin fever & snow not enjoyable on the jersey shore, but at least it's allowing me to rest the sore elbow. Keep at it.

The Disabled Veterans tag was to be put on your key chain and was used as a fund raiser for the DAV. It says guaranteed postage on it and if someone found your keys they could just drop your keys in the mail and they would go to a central address and would be then returned to you. Nice finds Bunker.

Thanks Ken and Marty.
I guess you would have to call the DAV and let them know to hopefully expect something. No where on there was any kind of ID to no that it was yours.

Been thinking about your sore elbow. Do you extend the lower rod on your Safari to give you the extra reach? If so this could be putting some stress on your elbow. If so, shorten the rod so that the coil is just in front of your feet. Just a thought. Someone at my club told me to do the same thing and as you can see, I swing it for hours. Stay warm!!!

HH,
Bunker

If you look on the tag under the word American there is a series of letters and usually numbers-- that was registered to "you" and so....................it also says postage guaranteed.

That's a great tip Bunker and more folks should be made aware of it. I like to extend my rod out in front of me, but was having serious issues in my elbow within the first hour of hunting. I generally don't go out for less than three or four hours at a time and swinging with my left arm is just comical to everyone but me. I tried shortening the rod and while I still don't care for the coil right in front of my feet, what a difference. No more or at least, very little pain. Thanks!! :detecting:
