Disc is supposed reduce depth. Most all the info I've read ALMOST get's all the stuff want about notch except whether it will reduce depth or not. [size=large]?[/size]
 
Notch does not reduce depth.
It cancels out the audio response of the notched numbers.
 
I agree with Hunting Dog. Notch doesn't reduce depth per se, but just remember that a deep weak good target's VDI might not be accurate. It could end up in the range you have notched out. So in effect, notch has an indirect impact on depth if you are not careful.
