Notching and Coin Hunting

As long as you don't care about hearing iron, I suspect there's no reason you couldn't notch out 0 to 30. The only reason I could think of not to do it is that there are some older relics that would be missed and you wouldn't be able to tell you were in high trash for making adjustment to the reactivity if desired.

That's a great point since foil and some of the smallest can slaw can ring in between 20 and 30 sometimes in 8 kHz. A whole individual squeeze-ketchup packet comes in all the time from 26-31, fragments of these packets ring up in the 19-25 range. Those stupid pencil eraser holders always sound like deep nickels!!!
