notching out the IRONY...

Have a look at this..a 34 merc and a pipe that has a windmill stamp on it...internet says it was made in the early to mid 1700's.
The IRONY is the wife got them at a garage sale in a box of junk for 3 bucks!

So I go out today and got a 64 rosie:clapping: 50 clad coins for 4.22 with the F70 11"dd running 53 sens, and -3 thresh. The rosie was right up tight to the local HS track, infield side, I was just going slow and looking for rings. Theres lots of gravel right at the edge, which makes stabbing coins difficult, but that is where the Fpoint really has its place, you can ream out a little hole the size of your finger, insert the F point to locate a target, and then fish it out of there. The rosie was only 3" deep, and gave a 78 tid. Hope you all are well and finding, or at least looking! Mud

Gadzooks Mud you better not give your wife your detector to use. She may come home with some of the coins that Columbus had in his pocket when he came over here......:) When I smoked I had a few of those clay pipes in my collection. When I discovered Cigars, pipes were history. Nice finds. How are the beaches? Hunted 3 hours on the beach yesterday and got 10 coins. HH .....Z

Hey Zeek! I went back out this afternoon and found this little 2.5 gr claddaugh silver ring...the beaches should start to get busy this weekend with depositors I hope...I hate walking on all that sand for nothing!

Mud,

What do gold rings tend to come up as on the F70? And wowza the wife had a great find. 3.00 well spent I'd say!

Hey mud. The wife did good I'll say. $3. Not bad. I hope to get out when I go home. I'm in VA. And wishing I brought my F70. HH Tim

Mud that is a great ring to find. When you get them all shined up they really are nice looking. Great find.....Z

Thanks fellers! Tbone, the gold rings I've found are mainly in foil, from 21 to 28, one nice on solid nickle, 3 girls class rings at 36-38, have not found anything of value in the 40's, several silver bracelets in the high 50's, a mens class ring is in the zinc dang near dead on 61...so go after any targets in that high 50's and up. Tim, you should start travelling with your F70...it will get you into, and keep you out of trouble! Anybody know what that pipe is worth?

I try to travel with it everywhere back home. And now I'm stuck in the middle of Historic Lexington,VA. I'm sure if I had it with me I could get into all kinds of trouble here. LoL. HH Tim.

Mud,

another question about the gold rings on the F70. Have you noticed that these readings tend to stay with in a couple of numerals of each reading like 28,28,29,28 or do they tend to jump around a bit...on average of course.

Thanks!

hey treasurebone ive nailed quit a few gold rings only had 2 that had a jumpy tid one was all bent up the other next to a pulltab found a 8 gram wedding band that read a solid 55 on the f70 like mud said most will be in the 20s to low 30s also remember the tid will drop on deeper targets if theres alot of iron in the soil keep digging all solid signals gold will pop up sooner or later hh

Nice pipe. All I have been getting out here in California are funny rectangles of foil all squished flat. I unfolded on and found that someone had been smoking some odd tobacco in one end then crushing is all up and throwing it in the dirt. I am not sure I want them in the car going home.
