Took advantage of a beautiful day 2 days ago and decided to make my 3rd hunt with the Omega. This is a relatively new sports field for a grade school. Very little trash! Found 28 coins in 2 hours. Not pictured are the 14 Mems.

This was great practice. Learned a lot about the detector. Learned that it liked to signal deep aluminum cans as 'Dime' on the meter. And yes, I sized the target.

Now I'm getting serious about finding older sites. Enough clad.

This machine seems to be very sensitive to power line interference. I had to reduce the sensitivity down to 50 in order to have a quiet machine. I can't imaging how others are able to run at 99 sensitivity.

John, have you tried switching to one of the other two frequencies? Doing this doesn't always curtail all emi chatter, but the 3rd frequency for me does cut down on the vast majority of it.. Also, although I do run into power line emi chatter, by keeping the coil on the ground seems to reduce the chatter to near none most of the time. I do, though, have one spot that a sen setting of about 60 is the only thing that works to effectively hear a target. HH jim tn
