Nothing to show for a chilly outing.

Temp was 23 and a wind chill factor of 9 this morning when I left the house. Decided I might need a wind breaker, so hit a field that was bordered by a thick tree line on the west side. Needed the tree line, as there was no silver today to help keep me warm. Digging some iffy signals did help some, too. Dug a small belt buckle, numerous pieces of trash, 1 55d wheat, 3 clad dimes, 2 nickels, 7 Memorial cents and 2 marbles. The marbles were the best finds. Low spots were a little muddy from yesterdays rain and conditions over all were a little chilly. About the same forecast for tomorrow. Oh well, I guess it is winter time. HH jim tn

Sorry to hear you getting another taste of winter jimtn ..........hh rick in mi.

Thanks, rick. Winter just seems to be hitting most of us about every other day. We have another dose of it coming in this afternoon. I did get out for a couple of hours this morning at a local park and did hit a 925 silver ring....along with $2.77 in clad. Heading to a little warmer climate, hopefully, St Simon's Island, Ga. I have never got any gold there, but did get 3 silver jewelry items with the regular F 75 in the dry sand one trip. Who knows? maybe I'll have something good to post when I get back. But, regardless, 60's temps. beats 20's-30's with rain, sleet, ice and snow....as I'm sure you know. HH jim tn

You are one Die Hard Detectorist Jimbo! By the way missed you at the club Buddy Hunt last weekend! But read your post regarding your grandson's Eagle Scout presentation scheduled last weekend. I cannot say enough about what an accomplishment that is!!
Have not a picture yet, but on the Buddy Hunt, using the reliable F75, dug a 1915D Barber Quarter and a Dr. Pepper Fob, that were given away at the 1904 Louisiana Purchase Exposition in St. Louis. The Barber had a good readable date, and would grade G4. The Fob originally was silver plated brass, some sill shows thru the heavy green patina, however the end was broke off where the strap would have held it. There were two house sites together that were circa 1903 with a large cotton field on one side. We had 10 to 11 club members show, and had a great time comparing finds and talkin' the talk. I must say I missed your smiling face!

One thing about it, the more time you put in, the chances of you finding something good really increases:twodetecting:

Wow, Terry, a 1915D Barber quarter is fantastic. The Fob sounds neat as well. Looks like the rest of us have our work cut out for us for "finds of the month." I am going to try a little beach hunting with the LTD and then I'll be ready to tramp through the woods again with you. Good job on your buddy hunt finds. I will have to give that spot a shot. I like hunting behind fellow swingers. HH jim tn

The look on your face was priceless when you found it.

I was really happy to see you find it, but I would have been a lot happier if it had been me instead of you.

My Compadre couldn't get down to the 8-9 inches where you found it, so I'm the market for a new detector now.:)

Good luck in Ga jintn, cant wait to see the pics!!
