I made it out today. I decided to try some settings on the Minelab from tips from Charles NY (here is the link to the tips he has: http://www.treasuregizmo.com/settings.htm )
After getting there and setting up the 'brains' of the Exp II, I realized this was not working....too much chatter. Duh, flip the switch to COIL instead of PROBE and one gets farther. Needed to adjust my own brain.
OK so within 10 feet I picked up these Wheat pennies:

Then found a very cool 10K 1945 Class Ring:

I love the way the light shines through the blue stone in this ring..(couldn't get a pic that does it justice).

No idea what school it is from. There is an M on one side next to the 1 9 and an E on the other side next to the 4 5. The emblem has a C in it. Any thoughts?
Also found was an ink pen (ball point), a couple 'hot rocks', a 1961 Jefferson Nickel, and this pointed whatchacallit that screemed silver (maybe aluminum):

Glad I got out and found these items. Had a scarf around my mouth to keep from sucking in cold air. One of the volunteer fireman stopped to ask me what I was up to (since this is marked as the future site of the fire dept.) guess he was curious. Once he found out what I was doing and I had permission from the township he left.
So Warthog...we have found GOLD in that ball field...think there is more?
