1. Start in DISCRIMINATE mode.
2. Hold your coil in the air and adjust the SENSITIVITY until the machine starts to chatter then back off approximatley 3 numbers (start at 90 - 95)
3. Perform GROUND CANCELLATION using FASTGRAB.
4. Set up your DISCRIMINATION LEVEL (Default)
5. Set up your NUMBER OF TONES (2+ mimimum)
6. Next go to the ALL METAL mode.
7. Set your SENSITIVITY as described above. This will set it for pinpointing.
8. Set the HUM LEVEL. Turn it up until it becomes stable (3-5)
9. Switch to MANUAL GROUND CANCELLATION and check the ground balance. Set it slightly positive. (HUM will become louder when you approach the ground).
10. Switch back to the DISCRIMINATE mode.
11. Exit out of the menu.
12. Dig some stuff.
In theory this should accomplish a couple of things.
1. It should properly set the Sensitivity for maximum performance based on the electrical interference in the area you are hunting.
2. It should help with pinpointing.
3. It should give you a better edge on small items.
4. Using at least two tones and low disc settings will allow you to hear some iron and provide better audio target separation.
