O8000 Park/School hunting problem ???

It's been awhile but I seem to recall that tree roots can cause
false signals - high tones. Frustrating. I dig and dig even though the depth
indication is sometimes only 2 or 3 inches. Any one got an
answer ? Also I get high tones on lead.
Finally, I'm going to get a Garrett Pro pointer as probing with
an ice pick is also getting "old."
Thanks.

Things will change for the better when you get your ProPointer. I won't hunt without one.

The more you use your detector, the more you will learn what its telling you.

The Pro pin pointer will greatly help in target recovery. I don't recall getting false signals from tree roots.....unless I happen to bump the coil on one then occasionally I'll get a chirp. I have dug quite a bit of lead, modern and Civil war era and they all come in with a mid tone, not high. Even, the large caliber size. How does it hit on dimes and quarters, high tone? By chance, double check that you have your coil connection tight. Just a thought, anyway. Good luck. HH jim tn
