Observation on Kai_Golds 11" coil test.

In the video testing the 11" coil, it looks as though the dowel is being slid under the center of the coil.

The center of the coil is not where targets are picked up. If you lay a small target on the ground and sweep over it you will notice that you will only get a responce from the ends of the coil and not the center. This might explain why the 11" did not do well in the test.

He said in the Video , that the sensitivity was turned down as the 11 DD was picking up some EMI.
All of my FT 11 coils are hottest in the middle of the coil
I my testing the 11 DD is deeper on coin sized objects with equal sensitivity.

That's very strange. The 11" coil on my Gold Bug Pro is weakest in the center. In Disc mode, when moving forward over a target while sweeping, I first get a signal under the nose of the coil and then the tail as you sweep past. On tiny targets there is often no sound in the center, while on larger targets the signals from each end will merge.

The coil works fine. I get great depth. Either your coil is messed up or mine is.

Okay I just checked mine. It's also hottest in the center. My mistake.

I don't know what I was thinking. I retract what I said.

He is doing the test correctly in the video.
