Observations, of a rambling kind

That's the only way to do it in my book. I've been at this a long time, long before digital machines and target ID, Hear it, dig it.
 
Bill and I are both former Vaquero users, so digging by sound is what we are both used to! I just like the extra info of the display.
 
When I say I don't rely on numbers, its not really the truth. I listen for tones and solid signals. When I get a good signal I check the ID, if it says a solid 42, I know its a quarter, same with a 38, its a dime. What I am trying not to do is see a different number and decide not to dig it.
The tones and ID are new for me, never had it before. But I sure like it.
Tesoro makes good machines, I still have some. I just use my ML almost exclusively.
I'm pretty sure from talking to Scott, he is much happier now with his 505.
