of snow here and about eight more inches on the way plus a little freezing rain mixed in..

I can't even get out of the driveway. My vans are just two lumps in the snow. Going to try to dig one out tomorrow. No mail delivery the past two days and no garbage pick up. Everything is pretty well shut down. Many streets and some of the freeways are closed. Thousands of people have been stranded at the airport, bus, and train stations for three days and may have to spend Christmas and beyond there.. Worst snow storm we've had in 38 years. Been trapped here in the house for days now and it's driving me batty.

WOW sounds like you should move to Australia i think the high today is 26 deg no clouds in the sky & i"m running around in shorts & a singlet :poke: hope the snow goes away for ya soon Bill.

Sounds like a great day, stay warm pal.

I just spent some time shovelling the driveway. I live thirty or so miles from Uncle Willy and am very tired of watching the drifts pile up.
got a call from the caretaker of my vacation place. Seems the weight of the snow sent a pair of fir limbs crashing upon my roof. One fist sized hole clear through the roof and another limb ripped off a big section of the siding, buckled a wall and sent siding, insulation and trim flying throughout the kitchen.
Oh well...that is what insurence is for I guess.
One of the roof vents was completely demolished but since it is directly over the bathtub I got a bit lucky there.
Got a prime rib in the oven and a choice of two desserts so what the heck, ya know??

Its a bitch here too Willie, I had over a foot on the roof and raked alot of it off yesterday. Its hard work for me now as the years are catching up to me. Its raining out right now so if it freezes by morning, Santa's in big trouble he will go zipping right off the roof. maybe he should stay home this year. Hope you get your vehicles dug out, I'm Ok there the fella plowed me out this morning. MerryChristmas. ... Ken

We will be getting the weather here tomarrow, it always drops down the coast from the north,
Merry Christmas Bill

My wife paid my neighbor and friend to dig one of my vans out today. Took him most of the day to dig it out and the driveway to the street. Then it warmed up slightly and started raining which later turned to snow, So when the temp dips tonight it's going to be slicker than snot out there in the morning. Be glad when all this crap is gone.

... you have power and heat. And your dear wife and dog to keep you company. It will pass, soon.

I drove to Bend and back and stopped to pee and took these pics. Was quite an exciting trip.

Yeah when I was working in Bend I drove back and forth in that crap every weekend. Was worse going over Mt. Hood.

Oh quit your whining Bill. Live in Spokane...........I drive in it 9 hours a day for my living (Coach operator for Spokane Transit)........

I get up at 4:30am to shovel off my truck so I can go to work. I drive in the white mold for nine hours then come home. While I was at work they plowed the street where I live which is a two lane one way arterial and the burm in front of my driveway is HUGE!!!. I then have to shovel the driveway, sidewalk and back patio. I don't ski or do any winter stuff. I hate it. I just drive in it and shovel it.........heeheheh

Brother Steve (Awitster) always asked me my I moved here. I wonder that myself this time EVERY year.

Happy holidays everyone,
Rosco

It's a long story. I should have made it shorter. I might still be living in California. A side note, my brother in Florida is about to be hung. Every time I talk to him he tells me he's out swinging his ACE in short sleves and shorts. "It's cool today he says....only 73 degrees".......Anyone got a rope???

It's only a little cooler here, high in the low 60's today. Tomorrow, a little spritz of rain and the same temps. I'll be out detecting, tooooo.....

The last winter I lived in Northern Idaho it got down to 50 below. Then I've been in the exact opposite. Went through the Mojave Desert one night at 2:30 in the morning and it was 130 degrees and we had no AC in the car. We stopped and got dry ice and stuffed it into the front air ducts and made our own AC 130 is freaking HOT!!!!

Bill

Yeah I'm glad we have power as my wife has an electric pump powered air mattress on her hospital bed. The pump runs 24/7. Without power she'd be laying on the springs.
