Hey all. Sorry I have not been on in a very long time. Randy you can remove this post if you want to. I will understand.

One year ago Jan 18 I woke up not knowing who I was or where I was. My wife took me to the ER. By the time I got there i was in a semi coma state. They did a battery of tests and could not find anything physical. I was put into the "Mental Ward". I stayed for 8 days. I came around about 3 days in. It was discovered then that my left side was not responding correctly. Flash forward one year later. 5 MRI's, 4CT's, Spinal Tap, and to many Dr's to count. I am still the same. Oh I am a lefty also.

I had bought the 705 in hopes that it would help me mentally. I ended up selling it for $$ on bills. I have nothing left of my MD stuff. I can no longer walk without a cane, or a Walker. I live in pain 24/7.

I am sorry I have not been on site. It is so hard to read the great finds. I am now depressed, out of a Job, and fighting for SSD.

I just really wanted my friends to know what was going on. Beale.

You have been replying to my posts for so long that i feel I know you
Wow mate...I thought I had it tough not being able to m.d.since Feb. - waiting on surgery that will cost me $3500 due to a torn up knee
I slipped over and damaged it and can't afford med. insurance.

I am very sorry to hear of your pain and loss of job and function.
Sometimes life deals us very hard hands...its not fair and it often happens to the nicest people unfortunately.
The monetary cost of any chronic illness is way too heavy
and the mental side of dealing with it can sometimes seem endless and futile
Please remember that developing depression in these situations is a very normal response
BUT ...may I suggest a couple of things...
that you beware of some of the depression meds the Dr's may put you on...change meds until you find one that suits you
If you manage it, just try and stay even a little bit positive
Keep striving to find the cause if you can.

To not know what it the cause is must be extremely hard .
A friend battled with dr's and specialists for 3 yrs about her acute, unrelenting lower back pain
It took that long and many doctors to find the doctor with the knowledge and experience to diagnose correctly.

ps. My life was turned upside down in 2004 due to a serious injury, I had some unsuccessful op's, I have not been able to work since and live permanently on pain meds.

It's good to see you back up and posting Again.
Sorry to hear about the curve ball you copped. Life is full of surprises. Sometimes they are surprises that we don't like. I hope you can enjoy the forum. Part of the enjoyment of posting here, apart from being encouraging to others, is the satisfaction you get by passing your knowledge onto newbies and those who can use your advice.
Hopefully things will improve over time and you arm able to retrain your brain to bypass the damaged area that is causing the current problem. It's amazing what it can do when confronted with such challenges.

You have always been so generous in the recognition and praise that you give others, I hope that you can come through this bad time and regain what you have lost...if not all, then in part. Do not give up hope...keep working on yourself, even if it is to keep searching for medical information and advice about your condition. Dont give up hope. Thoughts are with you.

Beale , I am so sorry to read your story and wish you well. If i can offer you some old aussie comics at my cost just to take your mind of things for a while you are most welcome. I have had a few back problems but a bit of a laugh now and then does help when your on your back. I also like to google map some of our members towns , the north is frozen and i am sitting here in the tropics 27c and overcast with 100mm of rain over nite. Makes it easy for snoopy and me to dig in Townsville. P M if you want me to send you the comics.

Yes Beale, get well for sure and you have given others so much support in the past I hope it comes around back to you. Try fresh homemade vegatable juices(carrot, celery, beet, apple, spinach, etc.) everyday made with a juicer machine for healing. It is what got me through a bad sickness and DOES work!

Here is how the brain can retrain to bypass the damaged area. This boy is physically almost completely missing half his brain from a gunshot and he graduated and got a degree. A lot of kids with a full brain cannot get a high school diploma.
