So I am confused...(and a owner of two Toyotas by the way).
Is there some rule or law that I am unaware of that keeps people in a run-a-way vehicle from just turning the key to shut the motor down or putting the transmission in neutral and just letting the engine rev itself to death???
Why are people so dim-witted as to not have a clue what to do in this situation???

Doesn't take it out of gear. Car keeps accelerating. Brakes don't slow it down, parking brake and regular brakes together worked on this one with the Policeman's help. Depending on the traffic, it can be a panic situation, just to not wreck. The policeman that was killed recently told 911 the same thing before he got killed. All electronic I guess.

It's odd that the engineers can't isolate the problem.
Anytime you are troubleshooting a automotive electrical glitch it starts off being a nightmare and only gets worse from there.
There is a young man in prison that was convicted of vehicular homicide for killing someone in an accident..He claims that his Toyota wouldn't stop and the jury found him guilty. Wonder what the courts are gonna do about his situation???
