New Eurotek Pro (aka Austek) arrived today. I think it must have come by rowboat (and I am not being critical of anyone, I know these overseas orders take time). Haven't had time to assemble it yet, but it looks great, not only for detecting, but also for packing if I want to take it in a carry bag or small suitcase. Wont have time to get it out until Thursday...got it standard with 8" concentric coil, and have a few places in mind to give it a workout. From what I've read from you other users, there's a lot to like about this machine.

Furious T, congrats on your new Eurotek Pro, I think you are going to be impressed with the detector.
Please let us know how well it works in the land down under..........HH.

Del & Sambo (and Elton & Joe Dirt),
I'm looking forward to getting thismachine out there...trouble is, it's raining cats and dogs here at present, but can't complain because we've needed the rain badly for some time. Been looking at the manual, and this machine is so different from anything else I have, even though it is in the lower price bracket. At this stage I am staving off expectations, but I have a feeling this machine will produce, and in a way that will help detecting to stay fun. I'm going to use it for a while with the 8" coil....then I might just do a bit of coil swapping with the Omega. I ran it over a few coins that I threw on the ground, and was immediately impressed with the audio set-up. With most of the coins, the digital readout moved one number (which was not unusual for what I was doing), but with our 10c (which gives a similar reading to the US nickel) the number just locked on and didn't budge, so I'm really interested to see how this aspect holds up in the field. The numbering ID seems to be calibrated to be much the same as the Omega, so I'm already comfortable with that part of it. Dont worry, I'll keep in touch. Pete
