50+ here today, got out for a hour or so and only got one artifact, this ole coin. :)
No date, worn bad on the reverse side, this site has not been my typical, "be nice to coppers site"

Do you have an idea of the age of the Coin? Also, what is the site you are hunting at, an old Homesite? Still a great find even though the ground has taken it's toll on it. Hope you find more at that site and Good Luck and HH.:detecting:

The coin would have been 1770-75, but it could have had any date on it, since it is a counterfeit, counterfeits were the vast majority of KGIII coins that circulated in our country and quite a few had dates that were not in the Regal range.
This site was not a site at all, it was about a half block away from the old homestead I have been hitting for over a year and no other signals in the area of 50feet, nothing, no iron hits at all, so it was a random drop.

Isn't it fun when you run across things just out of luck. WTG! Can you imagine what lies out in all those Farm Fields that Farmers and Hired Hands have dropped and even in the Woods from previous Hunters. Too bad most of the stuff will never be found but at least you found one of those Lone Coins and added a nice piece to your collection. Hope you have more luck. Good Luck and HH.

Very nice Don........:) My old XS is still ticking just fine also and as long as she keeps producing then I don't see a need to trade her in just yet. HH.

Amen to that, If I could afford to get a new SE right now I would, but only to have a new unit, since my XS is over 6 years old and it has been 6 years of hard use in the thick woods and underbrush. It has not had a stock arm cuff since year two, made my own out of PVC and it 100% better than ML's. I sometimes have to use duct tape to help the upper shaft stay in, but hey, the guts of this machine is still tickin despite the lickin.

All I have read, and I have sat here and listened to all the comments over the years on the XSII and now the SE, have shown me, that in reality, the newer units are not much different. Since the depth and ability to seperate targets has remained basically the same, all the "improvements" would not allow me to go back to any site that I have hit and find something that my current XS has missed. JMHO

We all know, experience with the detector, experience with the individual, and Location are the three biggies for most general hunting. Regardless if you have a Top of the ML, Whites, Fisher, Garrett or Tesoro and so on.

Now, maybe next year Santa will bring me a new Minelab. :)

All right you ole fart. Nice find but I know you've found better. Still makes for a good day out my friend.

You got more detail on that King George than I'm used to seeing. Still a good find. Ron

I need to go along with you!
