Man Fred, your still so excited you can't Spell right. :bouncy: Sure glad he got there though, as TnGirl and i were worried about your fragile health at your age.
SO??? Hows it work?? Real well i hope as i already ordered one.:yikes:

That is funny.
Hey who said you weren't a writer of stories:clapping:

[attachment 136256 DSCF4256.JPG] 10x14 next to 9x12 Hears what i think so far great coil a little lose on the clevis but a rubber washer fix that it snags a little on draw back when pinpointing because of open design it runs like the regular coils in all modes it pinpoint pretty accurate,i really didn't have a lot of time and the filed i wanted to try was loaded with football players practice started. This site is pounded so i got a few coins from 2 to 6 inches but when i put it in all metal it was hitting some deep iron small about the size of half dollar would shoot the depth meter passed were it ends checked a few more object like that i pinpointed them to get a feel for there size i have no problem thinking that if a coin was down there it would pick it up.I did find a deep target and as i was digging police pull up and kind of watch this target came in as dime and was off the depth scale this is hard dry packed dirt hear iam halfway in this hole with this dirt piled up and they pull up this ground is hard iam slamming my tool in this hole trying to go deeper had to give it up.Went to car and came back with other detector and found that spot and it was saying dime, 9 to 10 inches down.Don't know if i can find that spot tomorrow or later.Went back to car and got 250 out again and it was getting dark so i found a few coins and iam please with the coil so far. Iam going to get together with Tim Dude so we can run it and see what we think this week or weekend. It got jumpy a few times when i had it cranked up but that was over iron spots,it ping like the regular coil every once in a while.Hope this helped some

[attachment 136258 DSCF4257.JPG] The few coins i found on the coil little more weight than 9x12 but it will float on top of grass balance is nice felt a little pull on side swing

Thanks for the Update Fred. Sounds like it is going to be a good one. When i ordered mine today i asked the girl at KellyCo if it was going to be an improvement over the 9x12' and she said it definately would. Also that the tones would be the same and that the onscreen display should still be right. Asked her about a coil cover for it and she said they didn't need one as it was integrated into the coil. Nice feature. Should be here next week. Now i get to wait for the SLOW BROWN TRUCK. And our UPS doesn't go until 7-7:30 PM.

nice coil!! at least the rain held off.going out of town on Saturday. working in Erie on Sunday. maybe Thursday or Friday we can go to the festival grounds at the corner.they were here a couple weeks ago.by the way, im sending you a google earth map. ive hidden something for you.it came up on my 250 as a really really strong jumpy signal.i think you will know when you find it.good luck and god speed, were all counting on you.

She said it was integrated into the coil. I have no idea if it comes off or not, you have the new coil, not me.:heh:
Mine won't be here for a week.

Well it looks like it might but J.W. who sold it to me never mentioned that there was a coil cover on it. I will look at it tomorrow more closely. Thanks for info.

I took advantage of KellyCo's special and got one for wifey's 250. It just arrived yesterday. I'm glad that they threw in the coil cover with the deal. Yes, indeed, it is removable. I really like the way that the coil cover conforms to the shape of the double "D" search coil. In other words the open spaces on the search coil are open on the coil cover as well. As opposed to the coil covers for the Garrett10"x14" double "D" search coils for my Infinium, GTI and CX. The coil cover for these is like a big plate with a solid closed bottom. It's really the pits at the beach 'cause it will fill with sand and you can't use it in the surf 'cause it'll fill with water. I wish Garrett (or somebody) would make a coil cover for their 10"x14" double "D"s that is similar to the Excellerator's open coil cover design. Oh well, I guess I'l just step off of my soap box and give Garrett a call about that today.

P.S.
I really got it for myself to play with. Wifey won't use it 'cause it's too heavy. She only uses the sniper:twodetecting:Happy Hunting:)

So Fred...Yesterday morning the UPS guy was enemy #1. By last night he'd morphed into a superhero!

I was afraid you were going to open the box and realize they'd sent you the wrong thing. Glad that didn't happen!

that would have been the end of 'ol Fred right there. His poor 'ol hear wouldn't have been able to take it after all the pacing back and forth, and running to check the window every time a diesel PU went by. It would have been Good Night Sweet Prince time at the Fred House.:goodnight:

I bet his wife and daughters didnt' think he was such a sweet prince yesterday!

Wonder why we haven't heard from Fred this morning. He must be out playing in the dirt. Hope he's finding all sorts of good stuff.
