got out for almost 2hrs this morning here and managed a few finds but the copper came from a low area in a field so it was rotted to heck <img src="/metal/html/frown.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt="

well after a nice wire brush and some Lime-Away on it I have an ID, now I had no ID before this so I had nothing to lose at all <img src="/metal/html/biggrin.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt="

also a few whatzits but the copper and the 69cal rd ball were the better finds.
The copper is a Connecticut copper 1785-1788 so that I know <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt="

and this is a copper of normal condition up here <img src="/metal/html/frown.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt="
