OK, 3 days of washing, waxing, undercoating, shampooing carpets, detailing....

All I have left to do is wash the black mats and clean out the console. *whew*. I do a major cleaning like this about twice a year, the rest of the time it's just a regular one day cleaning.

The truck is a limited Ford factory special. I have only seen 2 others similar to it in the last 10 years, but they were different colors. The truck was built in November of '94, but it's really a 1995 Ford F350 power stroke diesel, crew cab. When I was looking to buy a truck in Anchorage, Alaska, I really had my sights set on a 350 crew cab dually but I didn't want a red one or green one or blue one. Like I told the salesman, "I'm going to buy a truck today but I don't want to see another one like it before I get home." He and I walked the huge Worthington Ford lot and I must have looked at 50 trucks, but none of them pushed my button. We were working our way towards the back of the lot, and there set this truck, filthy dirty, a hole in the tail gate the size of a telephone pole, and a great big sign on the side window that said in red paint "Do not sell this truck". I turned to the salesman and said "That's the one I want."

Well, apparently it took some haggling with the boss because it took about an hour before he came back and said he could sell it to me. The Ford dealership cleaned it up, put on a new tailgate, did a tuneup, and it's been mine ever since. It now has about 172,000 miles on it gets lots of looks. Several people have followed me into parking lots wanting to know if I wanted to sell it. Looks pretty good for being 15 years old.

The pictures look a bit squished for some reason making it look kind of short. It's actually long and lean. Click on pictures to enlarge, thanks for looking.
