First let me say I got out less than the year before but broke my silver record, my wheat record, found several firsts, my indians were down some, gold and silver rings were down a bit too. But the best thing of all is I hunted with many new people including several from this forum! I sure had fun!
2006 Detecting Better Finds and Highlights
Wheats - 207 Just over double of last year!
IH - 18 11 of them from 1800's, one key date 1871, one semi Key 1867
Silver - 34 First Seated dime, First Barber halfs, First Standing Lib. Qtr.
other - 13 3 buffs, 7 V's, 3 Large Cents 1853, 1849, 1841
Silver rings - 5
Gold rings - one 10K with small diamond, one Black Hills Gold, One cuff link
Other silver items - 5
Several gold plated or silver plated items
Old tokens - 6 two Civil War, one rare bar token
Old dog tags - 3 1962, 1938, 1922
Some of my highlights were My first seated dime, first standing Liberty Qtr, First and second Barber Half.
The 1840 presidential campaign button was a dandy surprise! The rare token is cool, because it is from the town I live in. And the Two Barber halfs I found were in a long since rotted coin purse which also included a 1919 wheat and a Kalamazoo bus token.
A neat side note is my last silver coin of 2005 was a seated quarter, my first silver coin of 2006 was a seated dime, and my last silver coin of 2006 was a seated dime. I hope this pattern continues for 2007!
