Does anyone here happen to know anythin' 'bout growin fruit trees?
Peaches in particular.
I planted this peach tree last spring. It is doin very well as you can see.
I know that these trees should be pruned in order to git the best fruit production from 'em and i thot i knew a bit 'bout prunin
but this thing has so many new shoots on it that i have no clue where to start or exactly which branches need to be cut off.
Can anyone help ?
I don't know it's exact age but it's 'bout 7' tall right now.

I spose i should add that there seems to be young buds showin up on it now so is this the wrong time to do this ?
( we're still only in the 40's to 50's here with freezing at night )

maybe someone could refresh my memory about why I did this one ...

The tree you show is growing in a central leader type of configuration. Try to prune the middle out and make about six to eight strong branches that wil grow around the circumferance of the tree with the center open to let in light and air, stone fruits do well this way in Idaho. Try your county agent or see if you can find a book on pruning at the local library. DC

Now i see that this has not only budded, but blossomed into somethin completely different.
