OK, only been using the 10" and going to try the 11dd

Went out in my test coins and the 10" could hear them and went as deep as the 11" but the 11" was hitting harder and you wouldn't miss. If I wasn't careful I could miss them with the 10". I have a nickel the 10" hits great on and can't get a hit with the 11". Just shows you that you need to go thru with a small coil and that leads to my next question.

Yeah, nickles are tough for me using the 11...seems the deeper they are and soil moisture conditions have a factor with the TID. Plus, the tone they give off is a weak and common one, tabs hit hard though.. probably has something to do with hearing loss...I did get into one schoolyard a few years back where I got a ton of them once. Its something a guy has to really focus on though, foil/nickle/tab signal range. Let us know what you think...but after reading this forum for a few years, I believe that 5" is a must for these machines in the right locations...I've gotta get one of those next.

The 5" is the coil for me in heavy trash. The 6 1/2 see's very little use since getting the 2 coil package with the LTD. Besides seeing fewer targets and knowing you won't be covering a lot of ground with the 5", it makes me slow down and investigate those sneaky high tones intermingled among other trash tones. It has accounted for a lot of good targets that I otherwise would have missed, or already did with bigger coils. HH jim tn
