old farm gives up some silver and wheats

my buddy and I went door knocking today and we got permission at a couple old farms. Pretty good day. Ended up with 3 silvers. 1940 quarter, ....then a silver war nickel and silver rosie was in same hole. The rosie was under a root and I fought like crazy to get it out. I left a huge battle scar on it and I was relieved it was only a rosie..lol

got 12 wheats, oldest are 1917-D, 1918. 1919-S, and 1919-D. Also got the small foreign coin, no idea where it is from? It rang up as a pulltab

and EL........this etrac is the nicest detector I have ever owned. It is amazing at these iron infested homesites. Sure wish you had kept yours. I could have helped you with it

Thanks Goes! Keep knockin' and diggin'. Thanks for the picture and the story. I left my "mark" on a silver war nickel last Tues....only I don't have a root for an excuse. I was diggin' in a park and wanted to make as small a plug as possible.

small plugs are a LOT more likely to die, you are better off cutting a DEEP larger plug, gives the grass more roots and has a much higher chance of the grass living

Very nice man! What part of Ohio are you from???

"Helvetia" is on most Swiss coins and the cross looks like the one on their flag.

well thats not too far we are about 1.5 hours apart, maybe sometime we can get together for a hunt

Sounds fun... Let me know sometime when you have a free weekend or a day during the week.. I pretty much make up my own schedule at work.. I am a little new to the E-trac. I switched over from the SE... So I would love to get out with an experienced person like yourself!
