Hunted an old house in town today with my buddy Nooberz. He is just learning so I am doing all I can to help him. He did better today than yesterday he found 5 wheats and a mercury dime.

I found an indian 1889, a merc dime 1918, 13 wheats, a crucifix, neat old pocket knife. It was a fun day and a beautiful fall day to be out digging

It's interesting that you've found a knife with naked ladies and a crucifix during the same dig. Beyond the fact that you've found some 'interesting finds', what do suppose that tells you about the owners or previous owners of the property you're hunting? Of course both items could have been lost by relatives or friends of the owners. It always amazes me when such things come popping out of the ground.

I think the knife is more of the artistic type and not the naughty type, it is very old, and it was very deep. Odd thing is a friend of mine who lives in Iowa emailed me a pic of the EXACT knife he found in a field where a one room school house stood. here is his

Cool knife, and I always love the religious artifacts, well the Christian ones anyhow. I have not dug any other religions yet, have you?
I am getting a ton of milage out of the "Crazy Cross", in terms of research and general discussion. Lot of people at work were interested in it.
Do ya share your finds at work sometimes?
