Old military button

Dug this not to bad of shape U.S. Great Coat button over the weekend. During the era it was made it was considered to be the standard General Service button.

Old for sure, maybe someday I’ll stumble onto a definitive button from that war. Thanks Confetrit.
Yes sir, no problem. If someone here happens to have the military button book, you could pin this down pretty quick. Unfortunately, I don't have a copy of this book. Maybe someone will chime in who is more familiar with War of 1812 buttons and be able to help you out. Best of luck.

In Albert’s it is 70A, late 1820 to early 1839 made out of brass. I have dug several pewter ones that have just US on them and they are 1808-1830. Potentially they could have been 1812ers. Thankful to find what pre WW1 military buttons I have thus far. I appreciate your comments sir.
