Old One (dollar) Cent found in... south of Brazil!

By the end of last december, I found this unusual and interesting 1849 One (dollar) Cent in the south of Brazil, by the way in a close neighbour garden, near a calm-water beach!
Since this island was historically a stop for ships sailing along South American coast, maybe a traveller in the XIX century lost it by here...
Thanks for looking!

not a Dollar it is a Penny I love to bring that coin home to the U.S.A....
Nice Find..

Wonderful find. I'm eating my heart out. I havn't even found an indian head penny yet, here in the United States. That's a very interesting find.

Wow!!!! :yikes:

A Large Cent.....and 1849! In 1849, through the early 1850's, lots of Americans were sailing around the Horn to the gold fields of California. I'm sure they left evidence in every place they stopped on the way.

That is a wonderful find. My oldest US coin is an 1889 Seated Dime in pretty rotten shape. The large cents are big and heavy and have a great "feel" about them. Wish I could find one!

Congrats!!!!
