Old Pad Lock

Can anyone help shed some light on this old pad lock I found? It was found at a site where troops gathered in Hamilton Canada to prepare for their march to Stoney Creek where the Americans troops began their assult on the British during the War of 1812. Could it be that old?

Usually the date and/or maker is stamped on the top arch of the lock. Might be hard to see on yours.
