Old pin

Last night I took a few minutes to use the Compadre in the yard next door to ours. This small pin (little larger than a quarter) was a hard momentary hit for the machine. It was buried almost 6 inches down in sandy root laden soil. Not sure what it is, looks like there might have been a stone or other inset items. As it is the piece is quite heavy for it's size. Got to love that simple little Compadre. I know a number of expense machines have passed over this area and missed it.

Looks like either a broach, or a hair decoration. Those two broken pieces on the back look like they could have either had some kind of pin for a broach or something else for hair.
But based on the part on the right it was a pin on a lever that the base connected to the left side and after putting the pin through the shirt/blouse you would hook it under the part on the right, like modern buttons (election buttons not shirt buttons)

I throw all that type of stuff in my junk treasure box . I sold a piece of that junk for two hundred dollars .
