A friend just brought into my office an old black powder rifle and can't do pictures.
it is at least 5 feet tall with a bayonet another 16"
I think it is called a percussion rifle. it doesn't have flint holder it has a spot where you put a little primer cap.
I can tell it is authentic, or a very old replica.
on the top of the bolt area are three sets of letters. Each set is over the other like this
US
LS
P
a little further back is "1833"
on the side is US and a fient etched bird with wings spread.
the inside bore is just over 3/4"
I know it isn't much to go on but I was hoping this could help narrow it down.
