Hit an old high school early this morning and the Omega with the 10 DD coil was smoking. Clad, nickels and high tone cents were scattered around every few feet. Among the modern coinage I managed 4 silvers and the last dime I dug, the 14d Barber gave me a dime trifecta. Fairly early in my three hour hunt I got the 40 Merc and the 53d Rosie. 2nd 53d Rosie for the week. Not to far from a water hydrant I got the stained 54d Washington. The ground in this area was darker and the grass wasn't nearly as thick as the rest of the area. About ten minutes later is when I got the Barber at a depth of no more then 2." Its well worn and stained, also. Including the silvers, I dug 89 coins and not a wheat cent in the bunch. Thats a lot of digging for me. Hope everyone has a great weekend. Allow me to be the first of many with a big Congratulations on that trifecta plus! That IS a lot of coins for you! must be a clad heavy location you found there, obviously along with some old dirt. High tone Pennys are a great sign somebody hasn't worked it well at all...and that shallow barber would not have survived a competent sweeper either...Nice day for you again Jim!
