After a 25-year pause in serious metal detecting, I have retired and just purchased a Fisher F70 to take advantage of the technology that has evolved during that period. That being said, my faithful old Bounty Hunter Red Baron is still in my arsenal, and embarrased many of the Whites 6000 Di users "back in the day". My secret then was good headphones, good hearing and chasing the "whispers". Being retired, I now have the time to get back into the hobby. Attached are photos of a small, thin (dime size) silver coin I found back in 1986 while hunting at a ferry crossing area in Glasgow, PA. I feel confident that the users of this forum will be able to identify it. I zoomed it up and tweaked contrast in photoshop so that it is actually clearer than it appears with a magnifier. It does not seem to match up with any US colonial coins. Appreciate any input - I am going crazy here waiting for a warm enough day to get out with my new toy. Until then I have been studying the manual, experimenting with coins and rings out in the yard and researching potential search sites at the library. Thanks for your time and efforts!
