Typical finds but nobody seems to be posting anything here today. Husband cleaned these with a wire wheel. What is different about the spigot is that the spout doesn't have threads for a hose connection. So I'm planning to use it to make a fountain. The handle would turn even before cleaning it up. The inner workings are good too, even the rubber washer inside. There is a crack where it froze at one time, but Durham plumbing putty should fix it good enough for light duty.
Googled the lock and it's not real old...maybe WW2. But when I first dug it there was molten glob on it and I thought it was a bullet that didn't fully penetrate sticking there where someone had shot it to get it unlocked. But then after looking, it up this lock had a loop like a Barlow knife has. So the glob was just the rusted up pin. Thanks for looking!
