Old style 15" WOT vs Newer sytle

I was wondering if there is any difference between the old style (Open) vs. the butterfly (Newer version)? I inherited one when I bough a Etrac. I also use an Explorer SE Pro for where I use the 13" Ultimate coil. Ive only used the coil once and it will take me some time to get used it. I search parks and schools and hope to start searching homes soon.
