Older vs Newer Omega 8000???

What differences are there between the newer and older Omega 8000 besides the newer one having a red outline on the faceplate vs a black outline on the older one, and the newer one having two phone jacks vs one jack on the older one??? Is there any difference in the software, etc.??
 
To answer my own question, I just got off the phone with Teknetics tech support and was told that they changed lcd's awhile back and the newer one has the red script vs the black script. They said that was the only difference, and as far as performance goes, there is no difference. In fact they are still using some black lcd's.
 
I have owned both models. It seemed to me the one with the red worked better. Seemed like it was deeper and more stable but who knows.........
