Oldest coin you ever found?

1834 Capped Bust Half Dime.........In my first two months of detecting!

This thing was at least 7 inches down and I questioned if I was really digging a good signal as the top of the handle on my shovel was even with the top of the hole and I still hadn't found the target. Got a few scratches on her but it's still my oldest find to date.

Yes, I was using the 705. I can't remember if I was using the 9" concentric or 10.5" HF DD. Those were the only two coils that I had at the time. I don't know why I think it was the 9" concentric even though I've done much better with the HF DD.

1877 seated quarter . I was using an xterra also.

1807 Large cent, unfortunately very poor condition, the date is only visible under high magnification.... using a 705 with the gold pack coil.

1838 Seated dime, 6 years ago, with the X-TERRA 70. I know it isn't as old as some. But considering this part of the Country wasn't settled until the mid 1850's, I feel fortunate to have found it. HH Randy

I found my oldest dug coin 33yrs ago using a C & G Wildcat.
It's been one of the favorites in my collection for a long time, and part of the alure that hooked me.

My oldest so far with the 705 is the 1863 CW storecard token in my "Digger" review.

I'll add my 1838 to make the large cent trifecta...an odd find for my area.Found with my x30 in my first year detecting..HH GL

1694 William & Mary Large Cent, its pretty rough and don't photograph well. Oldest silver is a 1739 2 Reale.

An old English half penny William III minted sometime between 1695 and 1701 (date obscured )
William appeared alone on the coins after Marys death in 1694
found with :minelab: Etrac

pictured with a more detailed coin which I purchased for comparison testing to authenticate the find
previous to that my best was an English 1799 Cartwheel penny
