Olympic gold ring

I found this Gold ring 10k 7.25g today, it looks like an Olympic ring, dated 1960-61,
you can read the word ( Rheto and Altius ) if any one here can tell me the meaning of this word on this ring.

I tried to look it up, but hit dead ends. The fact that there are only three rings makes me think it is not the olympic "5" ring symbol. Rheto is short for Rhetoric or can also mean a secondary school in France also called "terminale". Good luck in your research, that is an awesome find, very unique.
