Omega 11" biaxial coil cover

I read somewhere, can't find it now, that some users were having problems with the Tek/Fisher coil covers fitting the Tek 11" biaxial. I'm experiencing the same thing. Anyone else? Any easy fix? The cover seems to be a fraction too small, front to back, either that or the coil is too big. I don't want a permanent cover as I take my others off periodically for cleaning.

Ive heard some say they warm it up with a hair dryer to get it on and off. Havent broken down to spend 20$ on a cover yet thinking I will spray it with permatex instead.

I warmed mine on the gas oven just enough to make it flexible but without melting it,but only do it while the wife is out other wise she would go 'ballistic'

LOL
Yes, do it when the wife is out / that's great advice:clap:
what she doesn't see wont kill you

Okay - I heated the cover with a hair dryer, it slippped on but as soon as it cooled it popped off again. Step 2: Heated it for a very short time in a toaster oven (about 150 degrees), it slipped right on so I clamped it in place. When it cooled I took off the clamps and the cover popped right off the coil again. Now it's a little bent out of shape. It appears I lost $20 on this one and I'm not impressed. The dealer is looking into the problem for me.

That sucks, Like I said before though Permatex bedliner makes a tough coating, but it is permanent. Plus one can is cheaper and will do several coils.

Conclusion to my coil cover issue. I got in touch with a very nice fellow at First Texas (Rick) and explained my problem. He said he would look into it and get back to me. The next day he called (I was impressed) and said the company hadn't had any issues with the cover but he would personally send me out a new one. It came today and fits like a glove. The original coil cover was purchased from a Teknetics dealer but the difference between the two is night and day. The new one is a far better quality and snaps into place (not a friction fit). Thanks Rick for all your help.
